Grip!
Hive makes the iPad easier to grip, easier to pass around without dropping, easier to prop up without sliding. Hive makes it more ergonomic all around.
I kind of quit using my keyboard dock because I can prop the iPad up at reasonable angles with two skateboard wheels and couple of strips of foam tape. With a hard case the pad would slide onto the floor.
If you're an edge grabber, it will slip a bit. Your thumbs need to go on the screen borders. Bonus function: you can fold back the overlap to connect the camera dongle. I like that

Fantastic Case for what it is!
I bought this case more for "kicking around the house". I have a flip-type case for travel and etc. The Hive serves its purpose admirably -- the grip is very comfortable and FAR superior to other silicone bumpers I've tried. I happen to have big hands, so it's still a little thin to grip comfortably for long periods of time. Still, the "wave" design of the back makes it PERFECT for resting on the console between my car seats when using the iPod function. Would totally buy again.
